All the researchers participating in the project “Assessment of Risks in the Niger Republic and on the Niger-Nigeria border” met in Lasdel’s offices in Niamey on January 31 and February 1, 2013. For this third and last meeting, the researchers presented the quantitative and qualitative data they gathered during fieldwork as well as the different analytical perspectives respective to their subjects. A series of coordination meetings took place from August 27-29 at Niamey and on September 5, at Ibadan, between members of the Niger and Nigerian teams and Dr. Elodie Apard-Malah. Individual briefings took place to assess progresses accomplished by individual researchers in view of compiling a mid-term report. A second coordination workshop took place on March 31 and April 1st 2012, in Niamey, capital of Niger, in the framework of the project on “Risk Assessment in Niger Republic and on Niger-Nigeria border”, jointly conducted by IFRA-Nigeria and LASDEL-Niamey. The first meeting of Nigérien and Nigerian researchers in charge of assessing risks in Niger Republic in a regional perspective took place at Abuja from February 3-5, 2012. Six scholars from LASDEL and the University Abdou Moumouni of Niamey and 4 scholars from the University of Ibadan met for the first time to discuss their participation in the project.
