On 19 January, 2026 the National Museum Lagos in collaboration with IFRA-Nigeria held an immersion meeting with the four successful academics who received a research grant offer from the FEF Alternative Heritages programme to discuss the four projects selected. The session brought together project leads, research fellows, and the National Museum team led by the Curator.
The purpose of the immersion meeting was to;
1) Allow the selected researchers to present their research to the project management team.
2) Allow the project management to provide details information on the core objectives of the research call.
3) To allow for a collective review and comments on the selected projects, clarify goals, and ensure all researchers have a shared understanding of what is expected of them.
4) To stressed the timeline and final deliverable and to give room for the researchers to meet with the Museum key staff members.
The meeting concluded with a tour of the archive and gallery of the National Museum Lagos.
